Wheel alignment and wheel balancing are two different jobs. Alignment adjusts the wheel angles so they are correctly positioned relative to the road and to each other. Balancing corrects uneven weight distribution around the tyre and wheel assembly so it spins smoothly. A car with bad alignment pulls to one side or wears its tyres unevenly on one edge. A wheel that is out of balance shakes, usually felt through the steering wheel at higher speed. Many cars need both fixed at the same time, but they are two different jobs.

A computerized alignment machine measures these angles against the manufacturer’s specifications for that specific model. German cars often have tighter numbers than regular brands, so a small mistake that would be fine on a basic sedan can still wear out tyres fast on a sportier suspension.

What We See on European Cars Specifically

Cars with lowered or sport suspension, including BMW and Audi models fitted with aftermarket coilovers or lowering springs, may need alignment settings adjusted to suit the new ride height. If a shop aligns a modified car using the normal factory numbers, the car often still pulls or wears its tyres unevenly right after the job, simply because the machine was set up wrong from the start. What Alignment and Balancing Cost in Dubai

At a specialist workshop using a computerized four-wheel alignment machine, expect to pay around AED 200 to 400 for a full alignment and AED 100 to 200 for balancing, often sold together as one package. Budget tyre shops sometimes charge less, often under AED 150, but many of these only check two wheels instead of all four. What Happens During the Check

A technician parks the car on a flat rack and clips sensors onto each wheel. The machine then compares live readings to the exact numbers the car maker set for that model and trim. Any wheel that is off shows up as a clear number, not a guess, and the technician adjusts it back into range. Balancing is checked on its own machine, off the car, where a spinning test finds the exact spot that is heavier than the rest, and small weights are stuck on to fix it.
