The Alpina B8 4.6 was one of the rarest and most special cars ever built by Alpina.

BMW had previously (unsuccessfully) tried to put a V8 into the E36 3-series, but they couldn’t find the best balance between power and handling. The Alpina engineers managed it perfectly and the B8 4.6 is the stunning result!

The engine is based on BMW’s 4.0 litre V8 and with Alpina’s specially designed and cast 4.6 litre engine block, higher compression Mahle pistons and changes to the valve timing, reprogrammed electronics and a bespoke exhaust system, the B8 4.6 produces 333 bhp and 470 Nm of torque.

This is a very fast car. Alpina claims a 0-100km/h time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of over 280km/h.

With a total of only 221 cars ever built (between Coupe, Saloon, Touring and Convertible), these cars are also very rare.

This particular model is Number 037 and is the 4-door saloon version. It was manufactured in October 1995 and has only 93,000kms on the odometer.

Even though this car was in a good general condition, the owner wanted the car to be restored to its original and concourse condition.

From a full (glass out) body repaint to some minor mechanical servicing and repairs as well as sourcing the original Alpina wheels for the car (very rare due to availability of the correct tyres) the car has had no expense spared, with any items worn out or broken replaced to ensure the car is 100% original, fully functional and perfect in every way!

The pictures of the end result show the level of quality and finish on this wonderful and very rare super car of the 90’s.
